Level Overview
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is a widely used system to assess language proficiency across Europe, including German. The CEFR defines six levels, from A1 to C2, which represent different degrees of language competence.
A1 (Breakthrough): This is the beginner level.
A2 (Waystage): This is the lower intermediate level.
B1 (Threshold): This is the intermediate level.
B2 (Vantage): This is the upper intermediate level.
C1 (Effective Operational Proficiency): This level represents advanced proficiency.
C2 (Mastery): This is the highest level of language proficiency.
Language learning is a gradual process, and the time it takes to progress through these levels varies depending on the learner's commitment, practice, and exposure to the language.
